Hello, I’m Rachael!
Nestled in the northeast part of North Dakota, it is home to us. On our ranch, we run a cow-calf operation of Registered Black Angus Cattle. In addition to raising top-quality ABCA border collies, I also farm alongside my dad in the area. Leveraging my career in Marketing, I bring a unique perspective to promoting our breeding program.
Our story started in 2021 when we brought home our first border collie, River. We purchased River from Suzy Foss at Gold Creek Ranch Border Collies in Missoula, Montana. We could not believe what an incredible little dog she was, so about one year later, I decided to talk to Suzy about breeding. She has been with me every step of the way as my mentor. Now, we are working together with our community of Border Collie enthusiasts to continue on the outstanding Border Collie Bloodlines that Suzy spent many years bringing into her program.
My Philosophy:
My breeding philosophy is centered around several fundamental principles that aim to produce healthy, well-tempered, brilliant dogs that excel in working and companionship roles. I prioritize health and genetic diversity by conducting thorough health screenings and only breeding dogs with sound genetic backgrounds.
Health and Genetic Testing:
Prioritizing the health and well-being of the dogs is non-negotiable. Before breeding, all parent dogs undergo extensive health screenings and genetic testing to minimize potential health issues in the offspring.
Temperament and Trainability:
Border Collies are known for their intelligence and working drive. I aim to produce puppies with stable, confident temperaments and a strong willingness to learn and work. This is achieved by selectively breeding dogs with proven working abilities and excellent temperaments.
Socialization and Early Development:
Early socialization is paramount. Puppies are raised in a stimulating environment and exposed to various stimuli to promote confident and well-adjusted adults. Proper early development lays a solid foundation for a well-rounded adult dog.
Responsible Placement:
I prioritize finding suitable homes for my puppies. Prospective owners are carefully screened to ensure they can provide a loving, active, and stimulating environment for the puppies to thrive in.
Ultimately, my breeding philosophy revolves around producing Border Collies that embody the breed standard, exhibit exceptional health and temperament, and possess the intelligence and work ethic that the breed is known for. I am dedicated to bettering the breed with each carefully planned litter, always keeping the well-being and future of the dogs at the forefront of our breeding program.
